All our Enclosed Cargo Trailers, Car Haulers, Toy Haulers, Race Car Trailers, and Goosenecks are built to exceed your expectations. When you price shop, make sure you know what you're getting. Many trailer dealers are very good at disguising their trailers' features as top quality or industry standard when they are not. If the price sounds too low you may be buying a lesser quality trailer.

Basic Trailer Terminology 101
The Trailer Spots wants you to find the best trailer for you and may be able to help you in your internet search for a trailer. Use the terms below to help in your search. If you still can't find what you're looking for, give us a call and we may be able to refer you to a reputable dealer in your area.
Enclosed Cargo Trailers
Enclosed Cargo Trailers can also be called or used as an Enclosed Trailer, Enclosed Motorcycle Trailer, Enclosed Utility Trailer, Custom Built Enclosed Trailer, or can even be used as a term when looking for an Enclosed Car Hauler. The main reason for the use of an Enclosed Trailer is to help secure your items form being stolen or damaged by the weather.
Open Deck Trailers
Open Deck Trailers range in size from 4x6 to 8.5x56 and are used in many ways including landscaping, pressure washing, hauling a car, ATV, snowmobile, scooter, or just about anything that you want 360 degree access to and/or are hauling items that you don't mind being subject to the sun, wind and rain. Open Deck Trailers can also be referred to as a Flatbed Trailer, Gooseneck Flatbed or even a Fifth Wheel which is another name for a Gooseneck.
Car Haulers
Car Haulers can be both Open Deck Trailers or Enclosed Trailers. A Car Hauler will always be 8.5 feet wide but very in length from 14 feet to 54 feet. All Car Haulers must have at least a Tandem Axle to comply with all states but your larger Goosenecks can be Triple Axle. See the key below for common trailer acronyms. Other terms you can use when searching for a Car Hauler are: Racing Trailer, Race Car Trailer, or Toy Hauler. If you know you need a Gooseneck Car Hauler you should put that in your search terms to make sure you eliminate the Hitch Pull Trailers from your search.
Gooseneck Vs. Hitch Pull
A Gooseneck Trailer is often called a Fifth Wheel and is pulled from the middle base of a truck bed or deck. Goosenecks are often preferred when hauling heavy loads over long distances and are necessary when hauling loads that exceed the weight held by a trucks hitch. Some say they offer a better ride over a Hitch Pull Trailer but when it comes down to it, it's all a matter of preference. Often an uneducated consumer will think they want a Gooseneck but not understand the engineering and construction of a Gooseneck Trailer. When ordering a Gooseneck Trailer you must keep in mind that 8 feet of a Gooseneck is over the bed of your truck or being used for the jack's lifting system. In other words, if you order a 30 foot Gooseneck Trailer, only 22 feet of that trailer can be fully used to store a car, motorcycle and so on. The reaming 8 feet are often used for storage of smaller items or as sleeping quarters for those long summer nights out at the race track.
Acronyms
SA = Single Axle TA = Tandem Axle TAG = Tandem Axle Gooseneck TTAG = Triple Axle Gooseneck
Hitch Pull - A term used when referring to a trailer that is pulled by the trailer hitch of a car or truck
Gooseneck Trailer - A trailer pulled at the middle base of a truck bed or deck that uses a ball coupler
Fifth Wheel - A term used often when looking for a Gooseneck Trailer. The term Fifth Wheel does not really explain the type of trailer as much as it refers to the type of hitch. A Fifth Wheel Hitch has a V opening which makes it easier to back up to. However, many people say a Fifth Wheel Hitch has a lot of movement which makes its ride not as smooth.
